Ride with caution. Assistance may be switched off, but Bosch says you can always keep pedalling without the motor.
What it means
There is a communication error, often in the wiring to the drive unit.
Likely causes
- Loose or damaged cable to the drive unit
Symptoms
- Code 596 on the display
- Assistance may cut out
How to fix it
- Look for an obviously damaged or loose cable to the motor.
- Switch the eBike system off, wait a few seconds, then switch it on again.
- Ask your Bosch eBike dealer to check the plugs and cables. Do not open any component yourself.
