Brose error CHECK SPEED SENSOR: Check speed sensor (speed sensor fault)

What it means

The system is not getting a correct signal from the wheel speed sensor. Assist may switch off until the signal is correct again. Brose Display Allround shows "Check Speed sensor"; Display Central shows the same message (German: "Geschw. Sensor prüfen").

Likely causes

• Spoke magnet moved or missing
• Magnet too far from the sensor on the chainstay
• Damaged sensor cable or plug

Symptoms

• Error message on the display
• Speed shows 0 or is wrong
• No motor assist

How to fix it

1. Stop and switch the system off.
2. Check the spoke magnet is still on the spoke and lines up with the sensor on the chainstay.
3. The gap between magnet and sensor must be 5–17 mm. Move the magnet if needed.
4. Switch the system on again.
5. If the message comes back, visit an authorised Brose dealer.
