Rad Power Bikes error 22: Throttle fault

Can I ride home with this error?

Ride with caution. Do not rely on the throttle; switch off at once if the motor ever surges on its own.

What it means

The throttle signal is wrong, usually because of damage or moisture in the throttle or wiring harness.

Likely causes

  • Wet or damaged throttle connector
  • Damaged throttle cable

Symptoms

  • Error 22
  • Throttle does not work

How to fix it

  1. Turn the bike off and remove the battery.
  2. Unplug the throttle connector at the front of the bike and check it for damage or moisture.
  3. Check the cable from the throttle to the harness is not damaged.
  4. Plug it back in firmly and turn the bike on.
  5. If the error stays, do not use the throttle and contact Rad Power Bikes support.
