Shimano STEPS / EP error W032: Wrong derailleur type for the system settings

What it means

On E8000, an electronic derailleur may have been fitted where the system expects a mechanical one, so walk assist may be weaker. On E6100/E7000 the installed derailleur differs from the configured one and gear shifting is not possible.

Likely causes

• Derailleur changed without updating the system settings

Symptoms

• Walk assist weaker (E8000)
• Cannot shift gears (E6100/E7000)

1. Contact your place of purchase or distributor to fit the correct derailleur or update the settings with E-TUBE PROJECT.
